Regular garbage will be collected in all areas on Fridays, limited to two 32 gallon containers which may be placed curbside. For the Route 57-East and West Washington Ave. containers should be placed curbside after 6:00P.M. on Thursdays and must be placed curbside before 6:00A.M. For all other areas curbside must be before 7:00A.M. of the collection day. Stickers are
available from Borough Clerk’s office for extra bags at a cost of $2.00 each.

Bulky items of refuse, white goods, and scrap metal will be picked up four times a
year, see “B” on calendar. Eligible items include, but are not necessarily limited to,
furniture, bedsprings and mattresses, televisions, area rugs and other similar items of
household furnishings. Refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers are not eligible
for collection unless written documentation of the removal of coolant by a certified
refrigeration technician has been presented to the Municipal Manager’s Office at least
two days before the collection day. (ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED ARE: wall-to-wall
carpeting, flooring, building debris & home fixtures such as tubs, sinks, toilets, and car
parts.) Items small enough to be placed in garbage cans or bags should be disposed of on
the regular trash day, using stickers if required. Call 689-3600, ext. 119 if you have
questions regarding eligible items.

Vegetative waste collection begins May 6 and ends on Nov. 25th. All yard trimmings
or vegetative wastes and/or leaves must be in kraft-type, biodegradable vegetative waste
bags or in covered 32-gal. capacity heavy-duty plastic or galvanized reusable containers
(NO PLASTIC BAGS.) Container weight shall not exceed 60 pounds. (Do not put any
branches or garbage in containers with leaves or vegetative waste.) DUE TO NEW
STATE STORM WATER REGULATIONS ALL LEAVES MUST BE
CONTAINERIZED – DO NOT PUT ANY LEAVES IN THE STREET.

Chipping of branches/brush is scheduled four times a year as indicated by “C” on
the calendar. Place branches no larger than 4” in diameter, butt end out curbside on the
dates indicated as “C.” Do not place out any branches beyond dates indicated “C” on schedule; each area
will only have chipping done once. If branches fall as a result of a storm during a period
when no chipping is scheduled, please call the Borough Garage at 689-0088 to arrange
for off-schedule pick up of the branches.

Christmas trees will be collected Jan. 2-Jan. 20, 2009 only. Please have your trees
out curbside in a timely manner for chipping.
