BID Names Ed Rossi
President of Board of Directors
WASHINGTON
(Jan. 12, 2006) - Edward Rossi, Jr., owner of Rossi of Washington,
has been named the president of the Washington Business Improvement
District's (WBID) Board of Directors.
Rossi
has been a member of the WBID's Board of Directors since the
program was initiated three years ago.
"There
are a lot of great things happening in Washington Borough right
now and a big reason for that is the work of the Washington
BID," said Rossi. "In the next year, there will be
many significant changes, particularly in the downtown. It's
all very exciting and I'm thrilled to be part of it."
On E.
Washington Avenue alone, a massive streetscape project is set
to begin in April and the redevelopment of several properties
are expected to transform the center of town dramatically.
"Ed
Rossi has been an integral part of the Board of Directors from
Day One," said Jim Sheldon, executive director of the WBID.
"He is sensitive to the business community and sensitive
to the needs of the community at-large. He will do an excellent
job."
A lifelong
resident of Washington, Rossi is extremely active in the auto
industry as well as in the community.
The
former chairman of the New Jersey Coalition of Automobile Retailers
(NJCAR), Rossi recently received the Entrepreneurial Success
Award from the Warren County Regional Chamber of Commerce. The
award is given annually to a business that has successfully
created new and innovative products or services and has experienced
outstanding growth due to their creativity and innovative marketing.
Rossi
of Washington, which has earned a reputation for loyalty and
respect for the past 30 years, is now putting the finishing
touches on a second location.
Its
original - and current - building near the intersection of Route
31 and 57 in Washington Borough, will continue to welcome customers.
However, it will now sell and service Suzuki and an expansive
array of preowned vehicles. The new location, located south
on Route 31 in nearby Washington Township, will be the base
of operations for Rossi of Washington's Chevy, Buick, Pontiac,
GMC and GM certified preowned vehicles sales and service.
The
dealership gets involved with a host of fundraising events throughout
the year, helping to raise important funds for organizations
such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Domestic Abuse and Rape Crisis
Center of Warren County, and Scouting.
"We
give back to the community and are very proud of that,"
said Rossi.
