We are seeking support for several amenities to finish the Borough’s
streetscape project. As everyone knows, the streetscape is
underway. The centerpiece of this project, located at the
crosswalk, will be an antique replica 4-sided “Seth Thomas” 16 1/2’ tall clock,
standing on a granite base. This should be a wonderful final touch to
the streetscape.
In addition to the clock we anticipate including some additional amenities
that couldn’t be included in the original streetscape budget, such as safety
and security initiatives, planters, trash cans, recycling cans, cigarette urns,
and bicycle racks.
The Washington Business Improvement District is organizing a fund drive
to defray the costs of purchase and installation by offering local businesses,
organizations, and individuals an opportunity to have their names permanently
associated with these beautiful items. Future generations in Washington will
be able to see the names of those who participated.
We encourage everyone to be a part of what will become part of Washington’s
proud heritage. For further information call the BID office at 908-689-4800 or
